The 18th Mt. Emei Ice and Snow Hot Spring Festival will open on December 25 with a variety of interesting activities.

The festival will feature Emei Wushu, ice and snow sports events, spa, gourmet food and praying for fortune.

So far, more than 600 "ice warriors" have registered online to participate in an extreme sport--Ice and Snow Magic Power--during which they wil challenge the cold in the same uniforms on the Golden Summit of the mountain.

More than 10,000 tickets for skiing for free will be offered online via the official Weibo account and WeChat public account.

The scenic area offers a flat season ticket for 110 yuan per person between December 15 and January 15. Between December 1 and 30, tickets are priced at only 90 yuan as it celebrates its 20th anniversary of being included into the UNESCO's World Cultural and Natural Heritage List in 1996 together with the Leshan Giant Buddha.
