Chengdu's tourism market hot during holiday

Chengdu's tourism market is hot since the beginning of the new year, according to statistics from the municipal tourism bureau.

The city received a total of 2.48 million tourists from home and abroad during the New Year's Day holiday from Saturday to Monday, up 7.6 percent year on year.

Its tourism revenue during the holiday reached 2.36 billion yuan, up 21.8 percent.

Ancient towns and traditional attractions continue to be hot destinations. The famous Kuaizhai Alley and Luodai Ancient Town were visited by 170,000 and 165,000 tourists.
