Emei Mountain Interrnatinoal Tea Cultural Expo to open in July

The Second China (Emei Mountain) International Tea Culture Expo will be held from July 6 to 9 at Sichuan International Travel Expo Center, Emeishan City, Sichuan.

The expo is a large-scale, industry-leading, diverse and fruitful event sponsored by Leshan municipal government along with the agricultural department, the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office and Expo Affairs Bureau of Sichuan Province.

The gross exhibition area for the expo will be 26,000 square meters with 240 booths . Various products ranging from tea leaf, tea ware and tea food to tea packaging and tea-themed clothes will be on show.

An estimated one million people from both home and abroad will attend the event.

To make the expo more authoritative and professional, a number of top experts as well as heads of industry organizations will be invited.

Tea product, tea ceremony and tea tourism will be the three main themes of the expo. A series of distinct and diverse activities have been organized around the themes, including a forum on the export of Chinese tea amid the development of the Belt and Road, a series of lectures on exploring and passing on the tea culture, designing and promoting tea tourism and the zen-tea culture, academic salons and dialogues.

The Chinese Association of Scenic Areas, Chinese Association for Promoting International Agricultural Cooperation and China International Research Institute of Tea Culture and the Global Tea Tourism Alliance will release a declaration concerning the alleviation of poverty in Emeishan through developing tea tourism on the occasion

The Chinese tea tourism alliance will launch a poll in cooperation with one of China’s top travel agencies Tuniu to select the best routes for tea tourism. The poll is expected to stimulate development of related tourism products and facilitate integration of the tea and tourism industries.

Authoritative industry organizations such as the Chinese Association for Promoting International Agricultural Cooperation will hold an international competition of tea in Emeishan.

Trade and investment contracts will also be signed during the event to boost cooperation and exchange between local tea enterprises and their counterparts elsewhere.

202 domestic enterprises, 58 overseas ones and 180 purchasing agents from China and other countries including Russia, Italy, Turkey, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia and Indonesia have confirmed their attendance at the expo.
