'Beautiful China, more than panda' promotion held in Tokyo

Sichuan held a tourism promotion conference under the theme of "Beautiful China, more than pandas" in Tokyo, Japan on Dec. 11.

The conference was attended by more than 100 participants, including government officials, industrial representatives and reporters.

Lyu Zhijun, vice inspector at Sichuan Provincial Tourism Development Committee, introduced to the participants the development of Sichuan's tourism industry and invited Japanese travel operators to join hands with Sichuan to promote exchanges and cooperation in tourism.

Art performances were also staged to showcase Sichuan's unique culture and folk customs.

The "Beautiful China, more than pandas" global tourism promotional campaign, organized by China National Tourism Administration and undertaken by Sichuan Provincial Tourism Development Committee, kicked off in Berlin, capital of Germany last September. So far, various activities have been staged in 20 cities of 12 countries and regions.
