Chengdu New Year Shopping Festival ongoing

The 2018 Chengdu New Year Shopping Festival and "Made in Chengdu" Brands Exhibition are going on.

The two celebrations, which opened on Dec. 21 at Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li Chengdu, will run for 39 days, with nearly 200 activities expected to be staged for consumers and tourists.

More than 1,000 shopping malls across the city participate in the events, which are themed "Shopping Paradise, Chengdu Quality."

There will be fairs for making special purchases for the upcoming Chinese Spring Festival, temple fairs, exhibitions on various products with unique Chengdu elements or smart tech products made in Chengdu.

On Dec. 31, more than 20 large shopping malls in the city will extend their business hours for shoppers to celebrate the New Year Eve.
