Gexianshan town in Pengzhou city, Sichuan hosted a Xianshan (fairy mountain) Parade event on Feb. 12, presenting folk art performances and entertainment program with modern elements.

Some expats participated in the event, adding cultural diversity to the celebrations.

Gexianshan is an ideal leisure tourism destination with favorable natural environment. Its varying terrains range from mountains and hills in the north to plains in the south, offering changing landscapes throughout. Thanks to Sichuan Basin’s subtropical monsoon climate, it enjoys ample rainfall and sunlight, and cool summers and warm winters, with the yearly average temperature standing at 15.5 degrees centigrade.

Located in central Pengzhou, a regional transportation hub north of Chengdu, the town is 15 kilometers away from the downtown area of the prefecture-level city, and 45 kilometers from the provincial capital of Chengdu. It can be accessed via railway stations in Pengzhou and Chengdu, and the Shuangliu International Airport near Chengdu.
