Luzhou to host spring rural tourism festival

Beautiful Countryside will be the theme of Sichuan’s ninth rural tourism festival for spring season, which expects to kick off in Naxi district, Luzhou city, in southern Sichuan, on April 11, announced a press conference.

 

Music, tasty beverage, delicious food, kite flying activity, chances to experience traditional farming culture will be provided during the festival.

 

A seminar on the sideline will discuss the development of eco-tourism along the Yangtze River that runs across the spectacular landscape of Sichuan.

 

Most of the activities will take place at the Fenghuang Lake scenic area in Dadukou town, 15 kilometers west of Naxi. Located by the Yangtze River, the scenic area comprises lucid lake waters, lush mountains, and ancient architecture. The forest coverage reaches 89 percent.

 

Besides the Fenghuang Lake attraction, the district offers an abundance of sightseeing opportunities and unique lodging experiences.

 

Sichuan’s tourism has seen robust growth in recent years. In 2017, the province’s tourism revenue surpassed 892 billion yuan, up 16.1 percent from the previous year. At the meanwhile, rural tourism has become a major contributing factor in improving rural residents’ economic status, according to the province’s tourism authority.
