Lin Ching-Hsia, also known as Brigitte Lin.

Lin Ching-Hsia, was born on November 3, 1954. She was an icon of the period from the 1970s to the 1990s. Over her long 21 year career she set the standard for fashion and beauty. At the height of her popularity she was arguably one of the most sought after actresses in the Chinese film industry.

Lin was discovered in 1972 by a film producer. She began her career appearing in many Taiwan romantic films based on the best selling novels of Qiong Yao. In 1973, she played the protagonist in "Outside the Window." The film made her a star. The movie was kept off the screen by copyright entanglements for many years until May of 2008. This year Lin brougt the screen rights herself in Taiwan.
