Good news for ice and snow sports lovers the largest ski park in Asia with natural snow opened on Monday on the west slope of Mount Changbai, in northeast China's Jilin Province. An international snow culture and tourism festival, which will run for six months, also kicked off.
Tourists can enjoy many sights at Mount Changbai, including the Lake of Heaven, the Canyon, the glacier waterfall and snow sculptures, as well as have fun in the snow. It's China's only ski park featuring natural snow with a focus on extreme mountain skiing. It's also China's first ski park where transport relies solely on high-powered snowmobiles.
There are five natural ski runs, of which the longest one is 7 kilometers, the longest in China. The park spreads from the mountain tundra zone with an altitude of between 17-hundred and 2,500 meters above sea level.
