China's home-made regional jet, the ARJ21, completed a successful trial flight last winter. The country has wasted no time in launching it into full production. The goal is to deliver the first plane as soon as next year.

China's ARJ21 new liners are considered a milestone in developing the country's civil aviation industry. Building the country's own passenger planes has become a national strategy. Now, a number of engineers and companies are been praised for their work in developing the jets. The mass production of the jets is underway. The production of parts and accessories has been outsourced to a number of domestic producers.

Luo Ronghuai, ARJ21 project director of China Commercial Airline Corp., said, "Our work is very intensive this year. We need to arrange a number of trial flights, tests and get a lot of paper work done to get flying certificate. But the large scale production is on the right track. All the parts are finished and we are proceeding with their assembly."
