China's first amphibious bus takes test drive
Adjust font size:

China's first amphibious bus has passed its test run at the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center.

It looks like an ordinary bus from the outside, except for the picture of a duck on the front. And that's given rise to the nickname "Adventure Duck".

The bus is about the height of a double-decker. But inside, the driver has a choice of two steering wheels. On land, the vehicle can travel as fast as a ordinary bus, averaging 60 kilometers per hour and a maximum speed of 120. It can drive smoothly in water, with a top speed of 18 kilometers per hour. Six more "Adventure Ducks" will greet visitors to Qingdao on August 8th.
