Adjust font size:

China's drug watchdog says Hualan Biological Engineering is due to receive a seed sample of the virus from the World Health Organization for production of a vaccine for the A/H1N1 flu.

The sample is expected to arrive in China within the week. Vaccine production will start by mid-month, and the first batch should be ready by the end of July. Hualan has already tested immune procedures and doses. The first batch will be 250,000 doses, with annual production of 27 million. All of China's eleven manufacturers for seasonal flu vaccines applied for the WHO seed virus sample. The ten besides Hualan still have the chance to get one.
