4 sentenced up to 15 years for Xinjiang syringe attacks

Four people have been given sentences up to 15 years in prison, for taking part in syringe attacks. The case was one of a series of syringe stabbings in Urumqi, capital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

The four have been accused of stabbing a woman in the neck, in an underground passage on September 3. They were captured at the scene of the attack.

All four have been convicted of "spreading false toxic substances". Two have received sentences of 15 years in prison, with the other two suspects getting twelve and eight years.
