China and Indonesia are preparing a series of activities to mark the 60th anniversary of their diplomatic ties in 2010.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang told a regular press briefing on Thursday that the two countries had decided to set next year as the "Year of China-Indonesia Friendship" and plan to hold activities marking the occasion.

China and Indonesia forged diplomatic ties on April 13, 1950. Currently China is the second largest trading partner of Indonesia and bilateral trade volume hit 31.5 billion U.S. dollars last year.
