Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi will attend a meeting between East Asia and Latin America in Tokyo later this week.

"Yang will attend the fourth foreign ministers' meeting of Forum for East Asia-Latin America Cooperation from Saturday to Sunday as guest of Japanese Foreign Minister Katsuya Okada," Foreign Ministry spokesperson Jiang Yu told a regular briefing.

Initiated in 1999, the forum is an association of 33 countries from East Asia and Latin America that formed an official and regular dialogue channel between the two regions.
