A small plane crashed in Canada's Quebec Province on Friday, killing four people on board and injured the rest two.

At the time the pilot was trying to land near a lake in the region of Maria-Chapdelaine, north of Lac Saint-Jean, due to bad weather, according to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC).

A Griffon helicopter from a Canadian Forces Base (CFB) in Bagotville, Quebec, rushed to the scene and transported the injured to a hospital in Chicoutimi, CBC quoted local police as saying.

Earlier, a C-130 Hercules sent from a CFB in Trenton, Ontario Province, dropped two medics by parachutes to prepare to have casualties transported away by other helicopters.
