Foreign Ministry spokesperson Jiang Yu speaks at a daily briefing in Beijing, Oct. 19, 2011 |
"The so-called commission always watches China through colored lens, distorts facts and interferes in China's internal affairs. China is firmly opposed to such moves, " said Foreign Ministry spokesperson Jiang Yu when asked to comment on the report which was issued on Oct. 10.
"We urge the commission to stop releasing such kind of reports and stop erroneous acts that interfere with and harm the Sino-U.S. relations," Jiang said.
Everyone can see that China has made great achievements in promoting human rights and strengthening democracy and the legal system, she said.
This was the tenth year that the commission published its report on China. The commission consists of 9 representatives, 9 senators and 5 senior government officials.
