Two Indian traders have left E China city

Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei said on Thursday that two Indian businessmen caught in disputes with local businesspeople have left the eastern Chinese city of Yiwu.
Hong said the two men left Yiwu on Wednesday evening with an official from the Indian Consulate General in Shanghai.
During their stay in Yiwu, they were put in hotels and allowed to act freely, and their security was not hindered when they went out to eat, Hong said.
According to the Global Times, a newspaper affiliated with the People's Daily, an anonymous source said the Indian businessmen refused to pay more than 10 million yuan (about 1.59 million U.S. dollars) for goods they had received.
During a break at their hearing, the official with the Indian Consulate General in Shanghai planned to sneak the two men out of the courthouse, saying he was taking them to the toilet. But they were stopped by local businesspeople at the court's exit, Global Times said, quoting the anonymous source.
Hong reiterated China's hope that the Indian side can positively educate and guide the country's people doing business in China to abide by Chinese laws and regulations, practice honesty and trustworthiness, and operate legally.
China is a country under the rule of law, he said, adding that China values its friendship with India and always protects the legal rights of foreigners in China, including Indian citizens.
