A suicide bomber killed two people and injured six others in Kisham district in northern Afghan province of Badakhshan on Thursday, district chief Abdul Salam Paiman said.
"A suicide bombing happened next to a girls' school in Kisham district today, killing two people including a civilian and a commander of local police and injuring six others, all civilians," Paiman told Xinhua.
He added that the attacker walked towards the police commander namely Nazik Mir, and blew himself up.
Meanwhile, Faizul Rahman Ahmadi, the head of health department in Kisham district, said that 17 wounded civilians had been taken to hospital for medical treatment.
This was the second suicide attack in Afghanistan in the last two days. The previous attack in Faryab's provincial capital Maimana on Wednesday left 10 people including three NATO soldiers dead.
