Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbot, who is now on official visit to China, said Friday that authorities are "very confident" signals being monitored by search teams are coming from the black box of missing flight MH370.

"We have very much narrowed down the search area and we are very confident the signals are from the black box," he said, adding that the search has come to the stage where the signal from what the authorities are very confident is the black box is starting to fade.

"We are hoping to get as much information as we can before the signal finally expires," Abbot said.

Meanwhile the Joint Agency Coordination Center (JACC) confirmed that signal detected by AP-3C thursday is not related to MH370.

JACC also told China's Legal Daily that reports that the black box of the missing flight had been located are inaccurate and untrue when asked to comment.

Aviation expert Geoff Thomas told a local radio station 6PR in Perth Friday that unverified reports have shown that the black box of the missing flight MH370 has been located.
