Indonesian moviegoers screened the acclaimed Chinese films "Ocean Heaven", "Eternal Moment", "City Monkey" and "After Shock".

At the opening ceremony, Wang Zhongwei, vice Minister of China's State Council Information Office, expressed his hope that Indonesian audiences could better understand China's development, reform and opening-up through the films.

Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Zhang Qiyue said "Chinese Film Week" was an opportunity for China and Indonesia to enhance mutual understanding. He also said China would bring more Indonesian films to the Chinese market in the future.

"In the coming years we will not only show many Chinese films here in Indonesia, but we will bring more successful Indonesian films to China," Zhang said.

Chinese film screenings will also be held in the Indonesian city of Surabaya as part of this month's program.
