How does China view the role of the Global South in building a community with a shared future for humanity? What will China do to support the development of the Global South countries and also to support a bigger role for these countries in international organizations?

Ma Zhaoxu:

President Xi Jinping pointed out that China has always been a member of the Global South and will always belong to developing world. In recent years, the Global South has grown significantly, accounting for more than 40% of the global economy and contributing 80% of world economic growth. It has become a key force in safeguarding world peace, promoting common development, and improving global governance.

China has always been concerned about, rooted in, and united with the Global South. For more than 10 years, China has issued action plans, joint statements, and other documents with dozens of Global South countries, with the aim of building a community with a shared future. Many multilateral communities with a shared future have been established covering Global South countries in different regions. China has also continued to deepen solidarity and cooperation with Global South countries on multilateral platforms such as the United Nations and the Group of 20. With active participation in the construction of the BRICS cooperation mechanism, the SCO and other platforms, China safeguarded the common interests of the Global South. With China's support, the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway has fulfilled the Indonesian people's high-speed rail dream. Chinese hybrid rice has enriched the "grain bags" of African people. The China-Latin America satellite cooperation has also become a model of South-South cooperation in high-tech fields.

We will uphold the correct outlook on justice and interests and the principles of sincerity, real results, amity and good faith. We will continuously deepen strategic mutual trust and pragmatic cooperation with Global South countries and support them in exploring development paths that suit their national conditions. We are fellow travelers and good partners in building a community with a shared future for mankind. Thank you.
