Yoshito Usui is a Japanese cartoonist who was born in Shizuoka Prefecture on April 21, 1958. He was declared as missing when he did not return from a hiking trip in nearby Gunma Prefecture on September 11, 2009. His body was found on September 19 at the bottom of a cliff at Mount Arafune in Gunma. Usui is known for the popular manga "Crayon Shin-chan." The manga tells the story of a 5-year-old kid and his parents, neighbors and friends. Much of the humor in the series stems from Shin-chan's weird clothing and behavior, as well as his inappropriate use of language. The manga came to China in the 1990s and has become popular among cartoon enthusiasts, especially young people. After his death, numerous Chinese fans expressed their sadness online.
