China's most famous female impersonator has staged 3 full-house concerts at Beijing's Poly Theatre. Li Yugang was the 2006 winner of Star Boulevard, China Central Television's popular talent show.

Li Yugang delicately presents his performances, accompanied by Jinghu, a two-stringed bowed instrument for Peking Opera.

He performs the role of Yuji, the King of Western Chu Xiang Yu's beloved concubine. And the drunken beauty Yang Yuhuan of Tang Dynasty.

The concert is an elaboration of Li's understanding of aesthetics and performance, incorporating the past and present. It blends Han ballads, Tang and Song poetry, Kunqu Opera, martial arts and dance.

Li Yugang said, "In my previous performances, I was confused with my looks and had no clear ideality of art. But now I'm refreshed and only want to convey my emotion to the audience."

Guqin master Li Xiangting, reciter Zhang Jiasheng, zither player Chang Jing and soprano You Hongfei helped reshape the concert into a comprehensive gala.
