Karena Lam announces retirement from entertainment industry

Hong Kong singer and actress Karena Lam who stars in the upcoming film "Don Quixote" recently announced her plans to retire from the entertainment industry, Sina.com reports.
Born in Canada, Karena Lam started her career when she was only 15, but rose to fame eight years later with her first film "July Rhapsody" ("Nan Ren Si Shi") starring Jacky Cheung.
Later she starred in many popular films such as "Inner Senses" ("Yi Du Kong Jian") and "Floating Landscape" ("Lian Zhi Feng Jing"), all of which won her wide acclaim.
"Karena Lam is now learning photography and architecture in Canada and France, she is interested in ceramics and wants to develop in the artistic circle," one of her friends was quoted as saying.
The upcoming film "Don Quixote" will be released on October 15th and will be her last film.
