Entering the 30th year of his career, singer/actor Andy Lau has released a new music album as a special gift for his loyal fans.

The album is titled "Unforgettable" and it features 22 cover versions of Mandarin and Cantonese songs.

Lau says he wants to pay tribute to the great singers of the 1970s and 80s.

"I think all of the songs on my new album are ones that I was familiar with when I was a kid. Like the interesting song on my album titled 'Big Eyes', I was curious about this song when I was a kid. I always thought it was funny to write a song called 'Big Eyes'."

Lau started his career as a TV actor at TVB and today he is still one of the best known entertainers in Asia. He's held over 400 concerts and sung to more than nine million people over the past 30 years.

Lau says music is his first love and he's glad to be back.

"It has been a very long time since I released my last album. I'm really happy to be singing all of these old songs that I know. I am excited to see my old colleagues and old friends here, I'm really happy to be here."

Lau adds that he's hoping for another three decades in show business.

"30 years from now, I hope I will still be singing and you will still be here supporting me."

Besides the new album, Lau will also hold a series of concerts at the Hong Kong Coliseum at the end of the year.
