Walt Disney is launching an intensive marketing campaign with the aim of having "Toy Story 3" secure next year's Academy Award for Best Picture, the Financial Times reported. This movie, which recently passed $1 billion at the ticket box globally, has become the most lucrative animated film ever.

History suggests the odds are against "Toy Story 3."No animated film has ever won the Oscar for Best Picture, although two – "Beauty and the Beast" and "Up" – were nominated. However, the Academy recently changed the rules for the Best Picture category to include 10 films instead of five with the aim of broadening the appeal of the ceremony, which may help the film's chances.
