The world's largest book fair will be infused with one of the biggest collections on China and its ruling party, the Communist Party of China (CPC), in October.

The China International Publishing Group will showcase a series of books on the 90th anniversary of the CPC and modern China at the Frankfurt Book Fair in Germany next month, CIPG's executive vice president Guo Xiaoyong said.

During the book fair, the CIPG will present a series of books that commemorates the anniversary, including Why and How the CPC Works in China and What Do You Know about the Communist Party of China," Guo said.

So far, 300,000 copies of the Chinese version of Why and How the CPC Works in China have been sold, Guo said. The CIPG will also hold a forum in Trier, hometown of Marxism founder Karl Marx, and donate 140 Chinese and English copies of this book to the Museum Karl Marx Haus.

What Do You Know about the Communist Party of China have been published in Chinese and eight foreign languages, including English, French, Russian, Spanish, Arabic, Germany, Japanese and Korean, Guo said.

Guo said the CIPG will also showcase a number of books on modern China at the book fair. He said he hopes that these books will "present to foreign readers a real and vivid modern China." Readers can find such books as China's Reform in the Shadow of the Global Financial Crisis, Democracy and China, The China Model: A Dialogue between East and West and The Chinese Dream at the fair.

The CIPG will altogether exhibit nearly 900 titles at the book fair, covering topics on modern China, Chinese culture, Chinese literature, Chinese language teaching, traditional Chinese medicine and children's books, Guo said. Of these books, 90 percent are published in foreign languages. In all, 600 titles are published in English, 40 in Germany, 20 in French, and 70 others in Russian, Spanish, Arabic, Japanese, Korean and Indonesian.

This will be the 31st time that the CIPG participates in the Frankfurt Book Fair, Guo said.

The CIPG is the first and largest foreign-language publishing and distribution organization in China. It annually publishes 3,000 titles in over 40 languages, including 24 types of printed periodicals in nine languages. It also operates over 30 websites, including China.org.cn. It distributes its books and periodicals in 180 countries and regions around the world. Its publications account for more than half of China’s exports of books and periodicals.
