As well as mega cities like Hong Kong, Beijing and Guangzhou, the picturesque county of Wulong in southwest China's Chongqing City serves as a location in the film, which was shown at the Peace Cinema.

The blockbuster features several Chinese stars, including actress Li Bingbing, who was in Shanghai yesterday.

Meanwhile, Chinese brands are also represented by the likes of dairy product company Yili and automaker Guangzhou Automobile Group.

Director Michael Bay and stars attended a press conference in Shanghai yesterday, where Bay said there will be only one version of the film globally.

Despite reports of a dispute with investor Pangu Plaza in Beijing possibly delaying its opening, Rob Moore, vice chairman of Paramount Pictures, said that the film will be released on June 27 as scheduled.
