A wax statue of American actress Angelina Jolie has been unveiled at the Grevin Museum in Paris.

Tourists passing by were able to see Jolie's wax figure outside the museum, before it was placed next to her partner, Brad Pitt, and fellow actors George Clooney and Laetitia Casta inside the venue.

The sculptor in charge of the project, Stephane Barret, worked for more than six months with his team, using photographs and videos of the actress to create the figure.

"It's always a pleasure to see the final product. It's beautiful piece of work. It was a real challenge; it's always a challenge to sculpt someone. It's true that someone like Angelina Jolie was a real pleasure for me to do. And I'm really glad that people can come here today to see her."

Angelina Jolie's most recent film is "Maleficent", a Disney movie directed by Robert Stromberg.
