However, Wulong tourism operators saw Liang's explanations as excuses and insisted they had paid the money on time as outlined in the agreement.

Paramount Pictures did offer settlement and compensation via M1905.com, saying that all globally released DVDs and all TV and digital platforms will later show the logo, and that they would make a special promotional video for Wulong using the right logo. M1905.com, the website for China's Movie Channel, also offered to allow the edited version of "Transformers 4" to first play on China's digital TV.

But all of these potential solutions did not satisfy Wulong. Huang said the loss is too huge and China has too many beautiful scenery sites. "Without the logo or subtitles, people will never knew where it is," he said, stressing that, in a recent TV program, the scenes in Wulong in "Transformers 4" were branded by the TV channel in subtitles as being in "Zhangjiajie, Hunan Province."

In a statement, M1905.com said it has been actively trying to resolve the dispute and will not comment further since Wulong plans to take the matter to court.

"We are expecting fair judgment in court," M1905.com said, adding what Wulong said separately to the press about how M1905.com badly handled the situation and caused negative effects on the Wulong scenery site, "We will reserve the right to sue false statements."

Wulong is not the only one who's not happy with its placement in "Transformers 4." Beijing Pangushi Investment Co. Ltd., which owns Pangu Plaza, a prominent hotel near the Beijing Olympic venues, previously filed a complaint to the local court that said Paramount Pictures did not fulfill its responsibility of featuring Pangushi property in the way they wanted and asked to withdraw from the film project. The two parties settled the case quickly.
