A judge in the U.S. state of Florida has postponed a hearing to determine whether Canadian-born pop star Justin Bieber will be tried on charges of driving under the influence and resisting arrest.
The judge yesterday postponed the hearing until next Wednesday at the request of prosecutors and singer's attorney.
Bieber was arrested in late January on Miami Beach after what police described as an illegal street race between Bieber and a friend.
Subsequent urine tests showed the presence of marijuana and an anti-anxiety drug. Bieber also was charged with driving on an expired license.
It's unknown whether Bieber will attend next week's hearing. Delays are often granted in cases when the two sides need more time to work out a prospective plea deal.
