China mourns Robin Williams

Other celebrities and filmmakers, such as Shu Qi, Allen Lin, Kelly Lin, Gao Xiaosong, Chang Chen, Stephen Fung and more, also sent their condolences.
"I'm shocked by his death," said Wei Xidi, a film critic, "He is a very important Hollywood actor that we grew up with in our generation. Only a few actors could play the wide range of characters that he did, and his roles were always heartwarming."
Magasa, another film critic said, "People cannot accept the fact that a comedian would commit suicide. But now the illusion of bliss has been dashed to the ground. Robin Williams comes from stand-up comedy and he has strong improvisational creativity and mimic genius. His performances enriched comedy films. But like his mentor and idol Jonathan Winters, he also suffered from psychological difficulties. "
Williams, who won an Academy Award for his role as a fatherly therapist in 1997's "Good Will Hunting," had been suffering from severe depression, his publicist Mara Buxbaum said, describing the death as " a tragic and sudden loss."
Marin County deputies responded to an emergency call from Williams' home at 11:55 a.m., reporting that "a male adult had been located unconscious and not breathing," the release from the sheriff said.
Williams was pronounced dead at 12:02 p.m.. "An investigation into the cause, manner and circumstances of the death is currently underway by the Investigations and Coroner Divisions of the Sheriff's Office," the sheriff's statement said.
An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
"This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings. I am utterly heartbroken," Williams' wife Susan Schneider said.
"Robin Williams was an airman, a doctor, a genie, a nanny, a president, a professor, a bangarang Peter Pan, and everything in between. But he was one of a kind," US President Barack Obama added in a statement.
