Details revealed on Sunday showed that Wang Feng's proposal on Saturday evening to Zhang Ziyi, who answered "yes I do," included a headline-grabbing drone, and cost one million yuan, excluding the cost of the ring.

Wang made the proposal at Zhang's 36th birthday party, which he planned, by hiring a professional marketing PR company: BAZAAR Energy. The romantic party cost about 1 million yuan (US$159,900), Sohu.com reported.

Wang then knelt down and proposed with a 9.15 carat diamond ring bought from Moussaieff Jewellers Ltd. in London, which owns the world famous Moussaieff Red Diamond. Wang's diamond ring for the proposal, though, was estimated to be worth 13 million yuan (US$2.07 million). A model airplane camera, the Phantom 2 Vision, stole the show when it flew in with the diamond ring.

Wang also gave Zhang a precious diamond and ruby bracelet as a gift.

The actual words Wang said that night were "We both stood in the spotlight under public scrutiny and we have both experienced happiness and bitterness. I hope Ziyi can always have the happiest time. When we are both old, I can still take care of you. "

Zhang, dressed in a red gown, then burst into tears and said, "Yes I do."

Their relatives and friends, including famous Chinese singers Na Ying, Han Geng, Leehom Wang and Chinese writer-director Guo Jingming, witnessed the proposal.

BAZAAR Energy's CEO Jing Lu told Sohu.com that both Wang and Zhang participated in the birthday party planning and the flower decorations. However, Wang's proposal plan was kept a tight secret, and it eventually surprised Zhang.

Zhang Ziyi tweeted a photo of fireworks on her micro blog the next day with a short phrase, "I do!" The tweet has received more than 65,000 comments, 285,000 likes and 109,000 retweets. Wang also retweeted the post, writing, "Thank you for completing my life. All the hardships are bygones, from now on we will hold hands and stay together till the end!"

Zhang, who rose to fame after starring in "My Father and Mother" by Zhang Yimou and "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" by Ang Lee, is one of the most famous and applauded actresses in China. She has won multiple prizes for best actress in various awards including the Hong Kong Film Awards recently for her leading role in Wong Kar-wai's film "The Grandmaster."
