She previously dated venture capitalist Aviv "Vivi" Nevo and CCTV host Sa Beining but the relationships didn't last.

Wang Feng, a veteran rock singer and songwriter, had his heyday between 2001 and 2006. But his career went into a downturn and he has even been branded a "has-been."

He turned his career around when he agreed to be one of the coaches for the Voice of China in 2013 and regained his popularity. He has divorced twice, and he had an unmarried lover and two daughters before he met Zhang.

Zhang's stardom has also helped Wang's career, with his new songs getting millions of hits and his performing fees rising multiple times.

The news that the two were secretly in love has caused nothing less than sensation. When the rumors about Zhang and Wang dating first surfaced, Wang had only just divorced his wife and Zhang had recently broken up with her boyfriend at the time, Sa Beining. Both Wang and Zhang were subjected to a public backlash since both were infamous for their tumultuous past love affairs.

Rumors said the two met because Zhang's parents had good feelings towards Wang when Wang helped the parents win at a Macao casino.

Nevertheless, the entertainment value of this relationship did not end and continued on to become one of the most hilarious celeb events in two years since a series of entertainment news and breaking news, such as pop diva Faye Wong's divorce, coincidentally happened on the same day as Wang was about announce something.

This string of coincidences left the impression that no matter how hard Wang tried, he always missed out on that one chance to grab the headlines. Internet users then even launched the hilarious "help Wang Fang grab the headlines" campaign, poking fun, making ironic comments and posting made-up stories, turning it into one of the hottest topics to this day and Wang, thanks to Zhang's agreement to his proposal, eventually made the headlines with his marriage proposal.
