Other producers of "Go Away Mr. Tumor" include Gosh Film, Irresistible Films and TIK Films. The film portrays the final years of the popular young Chinese cartoonist Xiang Yao, who unsuccessfully fought cancer. It is based on her life and comic strips.

Xiang Yao, whose online pseudonym is "Bearton" or "Xiong Dun," died on Nov. 16, 2012 after losing her battle with a malignant tumor. She was only 30 years old.

Fay Bai become emotional at the press conference, choking up with tears. She said the film is her favorite among all the films she has starred in and she felt for Xiang Yao. She wanted to spread Xiang's optimism to the world through the film and would want to be Xiang's friend if Xiang were alive.

Lastly, she quoted Xiang's words, "Remember, to love and to be loved is the most important thing in the world."

The director said after the premiere that he will "no longer be the director of the film, and go back being a fan of Xiang," adding he hopes the film will enter people's hearts and help everyone to understand more about life, responsibility and dreams along with the late cartoonist. "And you, Xiong Dun, you will live forever on the big screen, " he said.

Xiang, born in Zhejiang Province in 1982, created several comic books about teenage love, weight loss, living the single life and her lifelong idol Michael Jackson. Many of her stories were based on her own life experiences. Xiang has become a larger than life icon after the comic book "Go Away Mr. Tumor" came out and even more so after her death.

Xiang Yao's father also presented at the premiere, thanking the cast and crew for making this film happen. Feeling very proud of his daughter, he said he would donate the royalties and licensing fees generated from the film to a new charity fund founded by Xiang's family and film production companies, along with other charities.

Xiang's father also revealed to China.org.cn that a new TV series about his daughter will be in development. And a stage drama show was also performed in Beijing and Shanghai and is set to tour the nation. "I'm happy and proud that my daughter's positive energy can still influence the world," he said.
