The "Golden Egg Carnival" is Madame Tussauds' latest promotion to seek better interactions between visitors and the wax figures on display. Under the plan, visitors who come to the museum during the National Day holiday week will be encouraged to share their photos taken with wax figures on social media platforms to collect a certain number of "likes" from their friends. In so doing, they will be given the chance to try their luck by hitting the golden eggs.

Benedict Cumberbatch, the British actor most famous among the Chinese public for his appearance on the TV show "Sherlock," is the latest celebrity to have his own wax figure set up at Madame Tussauds in Beijing. His wax figure will join that of Jennifer Anniston, which was also unveiled in the past summer, to greet visitors at the Corner for English and American TV Shows in the wax museum.

Other recent additions include the Chinese traditional character Monkey King and Korean actor Song Seung-Heon.

Interested visitors will find discount information on the official website and WeChat platform of Madame Tussauds Beijing.

Madame Tussauds Beijing is the international wax museum chain's 16th outlet worldwide and the fourth in China, after Hong Kong, Shanghai and Wuhan. Since its opening on May 31, 2014 on Beijing's Qianmen Street, it continues to offer an international touch to this traditional pedestrian commercial zone.
