Some media reports described the anti-corruption campaign as a gust of wind. How would you respond to this?

Chen Xiaojiang:

Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as General Secretary has insisted on the principle of fighting corruption whenever and wherever it exists, and punishing both "big tigers" and "small flies." A number of corrupt officials have been probed and punished, which has won the hearts of the people and the hearts of Party members. The public holds a high regard for these actions. However, the situation for our work to improve Party conduct, build a clean government and battle corruption is still complicated and severe. The Party Central Committee has had no change of determination in pursuing the war against corruption, and the goal to resolutely curb the sprawl of corruption is unwavering. So, we can say the work to improve party conduct and build a clean government is continuously underway. We will maintain an adamant political resolve and walk forward with the same pace, with no change in strength and tempo, and no relaxation in criteria. We will always maintain anti-corruption campaigns at a high pressure level, and resolutely curb the spread of corruption. We will let the people see and enjoy the achievements from our efforts to run the Party strictly, improve Party conduct, build a clean government, as well as fight corruption.
