China, Singapore to Cooperate in Training Senior Civil Servants
An agreement between China and Singapore to cooperate in the training of senior civil servants was signed on Monday in Beijing.

The agreement between the China Association for International Exchange of Personnel and the Singapore Civil Service College will enable senior Chinese civil servants to be sent to the Singapore college, a designated training base, where they will be trained according to China's specifications.

While meeting with Eddie Teo, permanent secretary of the Singapore Prime Minister's office and board chairman of the Civil Service College, Li Guixian, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, offered his best wishes for success in the cooperation.

He told Teo and other Singapore guests attending the signing ceremony that China's entry into the World Trade Organization had placed big demands on the country's government administration. Singapore, a nation with successful experience in this area, was expected to provide a high-standard of training for China's civil servants.

The China Association for International Exchange of Personnel under the State Bureau of Foreign Experts Affairs, is an agency in charge of international exchange programs for technical and administrative experts in agriculture, industry, medicine, finance, science-technology and management.

Affiliated to the Prime Minister's office, the Singapore Civil Service College is a training center with rich experience in training officials.
