China's mobile market has emerged with data showing the number of subscribers increased 1.6 percent in June from the previous month, adding 4.7 million new mobile users in June.

China added 4.7 million new mobile users in June for a total of 305 million subscribers.

Mobile operators China Mobile and China Unicom have been slashing prices in a bid to attract more users from a shrinking pool.

Fixed-line telephone users reached 296 million, a rise of 24 percent compared to June 2003.
