General Motors Corp's local joint venture partner, Shanghai General Motors Corp yesterday unveiled a new mid-range roadster HRV under the Buick series in Sanya, Hainan Province, Sina.com reported.

The vehicle is a luxury version of the roadster with a 1.6-liter engine. Targeted at the young white-collared group, the fashionably designed car carries a price tag of 136,800 yuan (US$16,542).

HRV is the abbreviation for "health, recreational and vigorous", the image of the auto product.

From yesterday onwards, more than 250 Buick dealers, nationwide, would start receiving orders for the vehicle.

The first batch is available in three colors namely white, silver and blue. Three more colors - red, gold and green will be added on later.
