HSBC Sets up New Service Center in Shanghai
Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) established Thursday its first Premier Center for wealthier clients in Shanghai.

Eddie Wong, president of HSBC China, said the establishment marked a milestone for HSBC's personal financial service in China's mainland and HSBC was ready to offer a first-class service for local clients.

The Premier Center will provide clients a saving service of up to eight foreign currencies, one-on-one consultations and a 24-hour telephone service. Customers with deposits of over 50,000 US dollars will become clients of the center and can enjoy services at 160 such centers around the world.

HSBC was considering opening another two centers in Beijing and Shenzhen this year, Wong said.

HSBC was founded in 1865 and, in May 2000, it moved its headquarters from Hong Kong to Shanghai.
