China Starts Anti-dumping Measures on ROK Polyester Chip
China is starting temporary anti-dumping measures against imports of polyester chips made in the Republic of Korea (ROK) as of Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (MOFTEC) has announced.

MOFTEC broke the news after the preliminary judgment, and the conclusion of the anti-dumping investigation initiated on August 3,2001.

The investigation revealed dumping of the ROK-made polyester chips, and the State Economic and Trade Commission (SETC) proved that their import caused substantial damage to Chinese industries, according to the MOFTEC announcement.

The MOFTEC announcement said that the importers should pay cash deposits from Tuesday to Chinese Customs in accordance with the judgment.

MOFTEC and the SETC are to make further investigations before the final judgment.
