One hundred fifty students majoring in food engineering in a vocational school in Wuhan, Hubei province will serve as chefs, preparing dishes for athletes from China and abroad during the Olympics this year, local newspaper the Chutian Metropolis Daily reported on Tuesday.

The students, mostly sophomores, have all passed the operation exams and an interview presided over by experts from the China Cuisine Association, a teacher from the school said.

All of the students will join the Olympic chef team from May to September, one future chef said.

The school will organize intensive training for the qualifying student chefs beginning in late February.
