Donations Arrive at Landslide-hit Area
Residents in Xinping County of southwest China's Yunnan Province, which was hit by serious flood and landslide, have received donations of cash, food and clothing.

The county has received 2.5 million yuan (US$300,000) in cash along with other donations of 24.5 tons of grain, over 1,000 articles of clothing and 830 quilts.

Sources said each family in the county will receive 45 kilograms of grain, five quilts and other necessities.

Since Aug. 14, Xinping County in Yunnan has had an unprecedented number of landslides. They have killed 33 people and left 30 missing.

Sources from the local government said that rain is predicted in the near future.

Rescue work is continuing in the county.
