China Plays Constructive Role for Peace in SA: Pak Spokesman

China has always played a constructive role for the promotion and maintenance of peace in South Asia and the world at large, a Pakistani Foreign Office spokesman said Wednesday.

He made the remarks while replying to a question regarding China's position on the current tensions in South Asia.

"China has consistently supported the de-escalation of tension and resumption of Pakistan-India dialogue to address all outstanding issues including the Kashmir dispute," he stated.

The Spokesman further added that as an influential world power and as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, "China continued to play a very positive role in defusing tensions in the region."
