3,000 People Walk to Raise Funds for WFP

3000 people from the cities of Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou are walking to raise funds for a World Food Program project, called Fight Hunger - Walk the World.

Fight Hunger - Walk the World is a global annual fundraising event held in support of the World Food Program. This year, the walk takes place on Sunday, June 12. People around the world will be walking to raise funds and awareness and to help thousands of children into school and out of hunger.

In China, the funds will be used to provide food for some 6,000 school-age children in northwest China's Gansu Province and help them return to the classroom.

More than 200,000 people in over 250 cities are expected to join the walks, starting in Auckland, New Zealand and including locations that stretch from the Great Wall of China to the Pyramids of Egypt to the FDR Memorial in Washington, DC.
