China Wins Praise from WTO Members

China has been praised by World Trade Organization members for living up to its commitments to the world body.

Chinese Ambassador to the WTO Sun Zhenyu said this on Tuesday in Hong Kong while commenting on the changes that have occurred in the last three years since China became a WTO member.

He said import volumes have grown steadily over the past three years, and increased by one third since last year.

He added that some WTO members have appealed to other developing countries to open up their economies in a similar fashion to China.
