China to Host Exhibition on Tibet Development

China will host a major exhibition on the development of the Tibet Autonomous Region via inland aid on June 23 in Beijing.

The week-long exhibition, the first of its kind in China, will display an abundance of documents, materials and photos highlighting the achievements made in construction and development projects in Tibet, which were funded by provinces and municipalities across the country. The projects have promoted the economic and social progress in Tibet.

Meanwhile, the exhibits will also show how officials, students and workers volunteered to work in Tibet from inland area.

A Tibetan-style fashion show, showing off 200 traditional Tibetan garments, and other Tibetan ethnic cultural activities will also be held during the exhibition.

Organization Department of Central Committee of Chinese Communist Party, the State Ethnic Affairs Commission, the Ministry of Culture and the Tibet autonomous regional government jointly sponsor the exhibition.

In 1994, the Chinese government decided that 15 provinces and municipalities would form a partnership with seven prefectures of Tibet to promote the development of the autonomous region.
