SERC Boosts Renewable Resources Generated Electricity

On August 1, the State Electricity Regulatory Commission (SERC) issued a regulation named Administrative Methods for Power Grid Companies of Purchasing Entire Amount of Renewable Resources Generated Electricity, stipulating that all power grid enterprises should be responsible for purchasing all available electricity generated from renewable resources and distribute this kind of electricity in a proper manner, from September 1 onwards.

Previously, under limited circumstances, most renewable energy sources such as wind, biological mass energy and solar energy had irregular supplies, posing a conundrum for the operations of power grid enterprises.

The newly issued methods will ensure that power grid companies and power contribution organizations bear the full burden of responsibility for acting on supplying electricity generated from renewable resources, and should thus refrain from restrictions on using renewable resources to make power.
